TERTRE ROUGE RACING
Welcome to Tertre Rouge Racing!
Maybe you’re building your own car, or just a petrolhead interested in the ins and outs of a build – either way, you’re welcome to follow along here as I build my own racing car.
I have spent several years designing this race car from scratch, and now the time has come when my drawings come to life.
I’m documenting the build on this website so that you can follow along and watch it come together as I make my lifelong dream a reality.
THE INSPIRATION FOR THE CAR
My passion for racing started at Le Mans 24-hour race in 1989 (the last year the Mulsanne Straight was a straight) when I first saw the Sauber Mercedes. I love the Sauber shape and – let’s face it – the noise! They are big and loud, what’s not to love?
At Le Mans, I decided on "Tertre Rouge" as a name for my race car while watching the race on that very corner.

YOU CAN'T RACE A HOUSE
People often ask me, "Why are you building a race car?" Well, the answer is quite simple: I want a Group C-type racecar but can’t afford a real one, so I am building my own. Sure, I could buy a house with the money I’m spunking on a racing car, but you can’t race a house!
GROUP C, BUT MAKE IT ROAD LEGAL
When I started designing the car in 2008, I knew I had to incorporate my favourite aspects of the Group C cars that I’ve admired since I was small. My main goal is to build a road-legal car that looks, goes and sounds like a Group C race car.
