Designing my racecar
Hello and welcome to Group C Motorsports. Here you can follow my progress as I build my own racing car. Maybe you're building your own car, or just a petrol head interested in the ins and outs of a build - either way, you're welcome here.
I have spent several years designing the car, and now the time has come where my drawings are coming to life. I'm documenting the build on this website so that you can follow along and watch it come together with me. Feel free to leave comments and ask questions and I'll reply when I can.
My passion for Group C racing started at Le Mans 24 hour race in 1989 (the last year the Mulsanne Straight was a straight) when I first saw the Sauber Mercedes. I love the Sauber shape and - let's face it - the noise! They are big and loud, what's not to love.
People often ask me why I'm building a racing car ("do you hate money?"), and the answer is quite simple: I want a Group C car but can't afford a real one, so I am building my own. Sure, I could buy a house with the money I'm spunking on a racing car, but you can't race a house.
So, with that decision made, I knew I had to incorporate my favourite aspects of the Saubers that I've admired since I was small. My main goal is to build a road-legal car that looks, goes and sounds like a Group C car.

I hope you enjoy following along with the build process. Feel free to comment on any of the posts and photos and let me know what you think. In the meantime, I'll be in the garage.
